This year you can buy unique and fun gifts from the Dorset Wildlife Trust (DWT) online shop, and also help local wildlife, as 100% of the profits made go towards conservation work in Dorset.
Wildlife-themed gifts for all ages and tastes
The DWT online shop, which was launched last year, has lots of new products added for the festive time of year, with wildlife-themed gifts for all ages and tastes. From the best-selling Pterodactyl Jurassic Kite, lip balm gift sets from Filberts of Dorset, the new ‘My Wild Life’ journal for young people, to locally handmade jewellery and the Gruffalo Nature Trail book for kids, there is something for everyone.
Christmas cards starting from £4 for 10 cards
This year’s Christmas cards include illustrations by local artist Sam Dodd, of a hare and fox in snow, starting from £4 for 10 cards. Other designs include iconic wildlife scenes such as the Kingfisher, Red Kite and Fallow Deer. The DWT 2016 calendar shares the wildlife moments from local wildlife photographer Stewart Canham, including images of red squirrels, tawny owls and dolphins in their natural habitat.
100% of the profits go directly back into wildlife conservation work in Dorset
DWT’s Individual Giving Manager, Fiona Sansom said, “The new products in the DWT online shop for 2015 have been chosen with all tastes in mind, but with a wildlife theme. We are also pleased to say that in buying gifts from the DWT online shop, 100% of the profits go directly back into wildlife conservation work in Dorset, so this is a great gift for wildlife as well as your loved ones.”
Adopt a red squirrel for just £20
Another great gift for both people and wildlife, is adopting a red squirrel, for just £20. This one year adoption will help us continue the conservation work on Brownsea Island to ensure the red squirrels have the correct conditions to thrive. The adoption pack includes a certificate, red squirrel photograph, fact sheet, an update from the Brownsea Warden and a red squirrel soft toy.
Gift Membership starting from just £3 a month
Other items available in the online shop include gift membership to Dorset Wildlife Trust. Membership is our most reliable source of income, and is a fantastic way to support local wildlife, starting from just £3 a month. The recipient will also receive our special gift pack, with a reserves guide, DWT magazine, car sticker and events guide so you have everything you need for a wild 2016!

Working for a secure future for Dorset’s wildlife enriching the quality of life
Dorset Wildlife Trust works to champion wildlife and natural places, to engage and inspire people and to promote sustainable living. Founded in 1961, DWT is now the largest voluntary nature conservation organisation in Dorset, with over 25,000 members and over 40 nature reserves. Most are open daily and there are visitor centres providing a wealth of wildlife information at Brooklands Farm, Lorton Meadows, Kingcombe Meadows and Brownsea Island Nature Reserves, The Purbeck Marine Wildlife Reserve and the Urban Wildlife Centre at Upton Heath Nature Reserve. DWT plays a key role in dealing with local environmental issues and leads the way in establishing the practices of sustainable development and engaging new audiences in conservation, particularly in the urban areas.
