Wildlife-friendly gardening is an incredibly important and achievable way to support wildlife where you live.
There are 15 million gardens across the UK, which cover more area than all of the country’s National Nature Reserves combined. If everyone gardened with wildlife in mind, we could provide more than double the space set aside for nature already, and help protect wildlife throughout the UK.
Wildlife requires 4 essential features to survive: food, water, shelter and places to breed. If you can provide these elements in your garden, you will welcome all sorts of creatures from the surrounding landscape into the habitats you have created.
