About Us
Dorset Dogs is an initiative set up to promote positive management for dog walkers using green space and countryside places and to encourage responsible dog ownership.
Working with countryside managers Dorset Dogs recognises the benefits of dog owners in the countryside and the help and support they provide as one of the main user groups of countryside sites. The Doggy Do Code provides guidelines to help deal with issues that may arise in the countryside.
We hope that the website is helpful to dog owners and becomes a vital source of information for the Dorset area.

The initiative is delivered by a working group of the Urban Heaths Partnership, consisting of dog owners and access managers from the partnership. The group has consulted widely with dog owners, countryside managers, and other dog related businesses and organisations.
Dorset Dogs is funded by the Dorset Heathlands Interim Planning Framework Mitigation Fund and the Natural England Access Management Grant Scheme.
