Do you want to gain new skills, learn something new and meet new people? Do you want to feel empowered to champion wildlife and the environment in your local community? If so then the Wildlife Champion scheme is for you!

The Wildlife Champion scheme is run through the national AQA* unit award scheme and enables us to produce bespoke units and certificates to acknowledge all of the learning, training and volunteering opportunities we offer through Dorset Wildlife Trust. [*AQA is a national exam board]

These accreditations may also help with career development and could lead on to further more specific higher level training with other environmental course providers if you get really interested.

The details:

  • It will be compulsory for all participants to take part in the health and safety unit PLUS 6 additional units.
  • Anyone who is a permanent resident in Dorset can take part in the training scheme. You do not have to be a current volunteer to take part.
  • Registration will be open from the beginning of June 2016 to 31st August 2016.
  • The course costs just £60 for one academic year which works out to be £10 per unit and the participant will be required to complete their 6 units within one academic year.

To help you choose your units we have put together some examples of the type of champion you could become below!
