The Kingcombe Centre
The Centre’s location is idyllic and unspoilt as it continues to be farmed in the traditional way, avoiding pesticides and herbicides. This cultivates an abundance of wildflowers and wildlife and allows individuals to experience the countryside as it once was; a real feast for the senses. Kingcombe is committed to sustainability in all areas - highlighted in the educational courses and supported by the way the land is managed and the buildings constructed. The Centre also boasts its own livestock and colony of honeybees to delight visitors and much of the food served comes from the onsite vegetable garden or nearby farm. We are surrounded by the outstanding reserves of Kingcombe Meadows and Powerstock Common.

The Kingcombe Centre's refurbishment
The beginning of 2012 was certainly a busy one for the Centre. All 17 of the bedrooms were redecorated as well as the main barn and a brand new kitchen fitted! Each bedroom has been individually themed to reflect a multitude of flora and fauna which can be found for real in the nearby meadows and on the reserve. We have, for example, the marsh fritillary room and orchid room. In time each room will include an information panel and have artwork relating to its theme so residents can learn about the wonderful wildlife at Kingcombe and take a piece of it home with them. The kitchen will allow the Centre to maintain its excellent reputation for catering for guests as well as extending the cafe offerings and allowing more special events to be hosted at the Centre.
