Seashore Code

Respect marine wildlife

  • take only photos - don't take any living things away with you.
  • carefully replace seaweed and rocks exactly as you found them
  • limpets, anemones and seaweeds will die if pulled of the rocks - observe wildlife where it lives.
  • don't paddle or throw things in rockpools - it's a creatures home.
  • avoid trampling on plants and animals - keep to bare rock, it is less slippery.
  • report anything unusual that you find but do not touch if you are not sure it is safe.
  • leave sea and shore birds alone to feed.

Take your litter home

  • Always make sure you take your litter home

Keep safe

  • check tide times before venturing around the coast beneath the cliffs
  • keep back from cliff edges and bases - cliff falls are frequent and unexpected
  • do not climb, hammer or throw rocks at the cliffs.
