Dorset Ecology can offer a full range of vegetation or habitat surveys tailored to suit the clients' needs, from a simple habitat map based on Phase I habitat survey techniques, to a fully detailed species-by-species vegetation survey. Having collected and collated the biological data, we interpret and present it in an objective, easily understood manner.

Experienced in National Vegetation Classification & GIS

We are fully trained and experienced in the use of the National Vegetation Classification (NVC), which allows us to place the plant communities at your site in their national context.

Different plant communities and habitat zones are displayed clearly using GIS to produce maps.

River, Pond & Wetland Habitats

With our aquatic ecology specialist knowledge we are well placed to carry out aquatic surveys. Two of our staff are accredited to undertake River Habitat Surveys and we can carry out detailed habitat surveys and assessments in river, pond and wetland habitats.
