 Dorset Wildlife Trust and Dorset Countryside Rangers are looking for people to help with conservation work in Jellyfields Nature Reserve at a volunteering taster day on 4th February.
Within walking distance of Bridport, the reserve's wet woods are a haven for wildlife but work is needed with ongoing maintenance and to make them more accessible so that local people can enjoy visiting them.
Free Tree and Soup for Volunteers!
Dorset Wildlife Trust’s Emily Brown said: “This is a great chance to come out and have a go at conservation work and to find out more about volunteering opportunities for conservation in your local area. And it’s a fantastic New Year’s resolution - get fit and help wildlife at the same time. And, as if that wasn't enough, there's a free tree and warming soup for those who come along and help out!"
To join the volunteering taster day on 4th February and collect your free native tree, head out of Bridport towards Dorchester on the A35, turn right onto Walditch lane after the Texaco garage then left onto Lower Walditch Lane the site is on your right.
Emily added: "The team will be there from 10am to 4pm so you can drop in any time and try your hand at various conservation tasks. Your work will help to make this local nature reserve site more accessible to a range of visitors."
