Urban Wildlife Volunteers

The Urban Wildlife Centre is conveniently located 10 minutes from Poole town centre making it accessible for volunteering to many more people in the Poole and Bournemouth Conurbation.

There is something for everyone at the Urban Wildlife Centre.   All ages and abilities can volunteer, indoors and outdoors.

How to get involved

The following is just an example of some ways you could get involved:

  • Practical work on reserves - scrub bashing, fence repairs
  • Surveys and monitoring - reptiles, butterflies, dragonflies, birds, small mammals
  • Volunteer Wardens
  • Work on the Urban Wildlife Centre - wildlife gardens, building maintenance, DIY
  • Office opportunities - press and publicity, data input, educational resources
  • Particular projects - Wildlife on Your Doorstep, climate change, greenspaces
  • Corporate volunteering and Team Building
  • Community events
