Gillingham Royal Forest Project
What would you like to see happen here?
The area between Gillingham and Shaftesbury known as the Gillingham Royal Forest is an area of outstanding natural, cultural and historical value containing two Schedule Ancient Monuments. This ancient landscape is now an area of dairy farms, hedges, ponds and oak trees with many features that symbolise its distinctive royal forest past with names such as Forest Deer and Huntingford.
Dorset Wildlife Trust are working with local partner organisations to develop a programme of activities and events to celebrate the Gillingham Royal Forest, and to enable local people to find out more about their local heritage, learn new skills and get active in and enjoy the countryside more. We already have lots of ideas for projects that we could develop but we would really like to hear from more people who live or work in or near this area in North Dorset, so that we can find out exactly what would be of most value to you personally. This information would also be very helpful in formulating applications for funding to deliver our plans.
We would be very grateful if you would download and complete this very short questionnaire and email it back to Emma Tomlin, Conservation Officer email@example.com
If you want to discuss the project in more detail please contact Emma by email or on 01305 264620. Please note that your personal details recorded on this form will only be kept for the purposes of this project and not be passed on to any other database within DWT or any other organisation.
Thank you for taking the time to help us develop this project. If you would like to find our more about Dorset Wildlife Trust and the work we do, please click here.
