Event details
About the event
As dusk falls over Brownsea Island head out for an unforgettable evening of discovery. Guided by one of the island’s expert Rangers and volunteers, this nocturnal safari offers a rare glimpse into the island’s after-dark wildlife.
As the sun sets, the lagoon comes alive with the sights and sounds of nesting birds. Watch terns dive for fish and wading birds settle in for the night. We will use bat detectors to tune into the secret world of bats, tracking their movements and watching their aerial acrobatics. You’ll also encounter a fascinating array of moths and other nocturnal insects that are active in the twilight hours.
Tickets include return boat travel, island entry, and a guided walk. Please arrive at your designated ticket times of either 7.20pm or 7.50pm. The first boat will leave at 7.30pm and the second at 8pm.
There will be two separate safari groups, the first group will head out for their safari when they arrive on the first boat at approx. 7.45pm and the second group at around 8.15pm.
