The Chesil Beach Centre from the Fleet Lagoon by Marc Kativu Smith

Dorset Wildlife Trust is looking for new volunteers from the local area to join our lively and welcoming team at the Fine Foundation Chesil Beach Centre, Portland. They will help run the visitor centre, assist the staff in leading school visits and public seashore events, and provide information about the nature reserve and codes of conduct to visitors. Volunteers must be reliable; able to talk to and engage visitors; enthusiastic about our coastal and marine environment; and work well with other volunteers in the team.
A minimum of 2 sessions per month (morning or afternoon) of your time is required in return for a free programme of regular events and activities to broaden your knowledge about the wildlife and heritage of the area and its conservation.
There will be an introductory session at the Chesil Beach Centre in the New Year, where you will have a chance to meet the staff and volunteers who will be happy to answer your questions. There will also be an opportunity to apply for the volunteer positions.
