My name is Madelaine and I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience volunteering at The Fine Foundation Wild Seas Centre. I have learnt so much about the marine life found along the Dorset coastline and now can't resist a walk along the beach at low tide to peer into the rock pools. I also enjoy welcoming and talking to the visitors who, like me, love looking at the marine life in the aquariums. On my first visit to Kimmeridge Bay I saw a Portuguese man o'war, beautiful but dangerous to touch due to their painful sting.

I love working in the garden full of beautiful sea plants like sea campion and even yellow horned-poppies! The plants scramble across the rusty chains and around the old mine. It's a pleasure to watch the sparrows on the feeders and now and again see a great spotted woodpecker. Being in the garden is relaxing, enjoyable and every now and again, looking up to see the beautiful view across the bay.
