Mammal Atlas Project

  • In 2008 we launched an exciting new project to increase mammal recording effort and our knowledge of species distributions within the county.
  • The project is a collaboration between volunteer mammal recorders, Dorset Wildlife Trust, John Stobart (County Mammal Recorder) and Dorset Environmental Records Centre (DERC).
  • We would be very grateful of any help with surveying for this project.

Aims

The aim is to produce a comprehensive Mammal Atlas by 2012 consisting of:

  • species distribution maps
  • accounts written by local experts.

Each year we will be looking at maps of mammal records and identifying under-recorded areas to target.

PROJECT UPDATE!!!
