The Studland Seagrass and Seahorse Project 2011 proved to be very successful with 220 questionnaires completed by boat owners at Studland Bay and also at local marinas. The information has been compiled in a report which has been submitted to the Marine Management Organisation (MMO). The full report can be downloaded here.
Interesting findings at Studland
Dorset Seasearch volunteer divers have recently reported some interesting findings at Studland including cuttlefish eggs, anemones, pipefish and other juvenile fish.
Follow the diving protocol
The MMO has sent an advisory letter to local diving clubs advising divers that a wildlife licence is required from them before certain activities can be carried out that are likely to disturb seahorses. This includes photography, filming or surveys. Divers should be aware of the diving protocol
