Barclays Bank donates 1% of its UK pre-tax profits to community causes each year. Barclays house at Poole has not only provided financial support to the Dorset Wildlife Trust, but over recent years has given practical help by organising a staff volunteer force working on 6 reserves for MADD Day, refurbishing the Trust's caravan, cleaning-up a local beach and arranging a weekend of family volunteering on Brownsea Island. It has given significant backing to the Red Squirrel campaign and also provides a forum for encouraging local businesses to support the Trust through corporate membership.
