BP Exploration operates the Wych Farm oilfield in Purbeck, producing approximately 85,000 barrels of oil a day. This is Western Europe's largest onshore field, and has been developed in an environmentally sensitive area through consultation with statutory and non-regulatory bodies and the local community. Wych Farm won the Queens Award for Environmental Achievement in 1995. |
