Dennis Chinaworks - Limited Edition Ceramics

Dennis Chinaworks have generously produced two newly designed pots for Dorset Wildlife Trust. The pots attractively depict native red squirrels amongst Scots pine branches and oak leaves. All the profits from the sale of these limited edition ceramics will go towards our conservation work on Brownsea Island, in Poole Harbour, where a small population of red squirrels still survive.

Founded in 1993 by Sally and Richard Dennis, the Dennis Chinaworks pottery is run from the converted stables of a Victorian Gothic rectory in Somerset.

Sally established her professional name in fashion design (as Sally Tuffin) as one half of Foale & Tuffin, one of the leading design houses of the 1960’s. Sally later took her skills into ceramics, becoming partner and design director of the Moorcroft Pottery from 1986 to 1993.

Dennis Chinaworks pots are thrown and turned on the wheel. Colour and decoration are also applied by hand. From beginning to end each pot is the work of a single Decorator.

The pottery’s highly sought after products are bought by collectors and enthusiasts of decorative pottery across the world. The designs are distinctly Sally Tuffin, reflecting her love of the late 19th - early 20th century Arts & Crafts movement.
