Introducing our volunteering staff

This month sees us welcome two new staff into the Volunteering Team.  Angie Manning joins us as the Volunteering Admin assistant and Josh Kirk comes in as a Volunteering assistant.  Both posts are funded for 6 months by the Department of Work and Pensions Future Jobs Fund.  Here they are, with their own introductions:
Angie Manning

Hi there fellow Wildlife lovers! My name is Angie, I have only recently joined the volunteer team at DWT Beacon Hill and already I have managed to see a huge range of wonderful and facinating Dorset Wildlife!

I have just moved down from North Wales to join the team since this has been a lifelong dream of mine and im loving every minute of being here!! I recently graduated from a whole number of animal related subjects up in North Wales, my alltime favourite of which was studying Conservation as it’s a subject I'm very passionate about!

So far I have been to Purbeck and visited the DWT Marine Reserve which must be an amazing place to work in the middle of all those stunning views, next week Im due to go to Brownsea Island which im very much looking forward too.

I have always had strong links with Poole since my relatives have always lived here so Ive always had a great excuse to come down and visit this lovely county.

Every passing day so far I have learnt new things and met more amazing people and so I am always excited and looking forward to what tomorrow will bring.

The Dorset Wildlife Trust team are all such a friendly and cheerful bunch, I'm really looking forward to meeting all of you in the near future!

Thanks for having me on board!

Josh Kirk

Hi, I'm Josh.  I have been volunteering with Sam for about a year now and have loved every minute!  You may have noticed me in the blogs that Becky has done as I always seem to find my way into any pictures! I have completed a conservation course at Kingston Maurward and I am now looking for a career in conservation.  This opportunity has come along at just the right time and I am so pleased to be able to work here.

I am so excited about this job!  It's going to be such a brilliant experience and I'm looking forwrad to seeing what it's like as a member of staff with the Trust.

Welcome to the team and we are sure you will have a busy and exciting time ahead of you!
