You can enjoy the Christmas preparations at a gentler pace with Dorset Wildlife Trust’s Kingcombe Centre Country Christmas events. Set in the peaceful time-warp of Lower Kingcombe, the Kingcombe Centre is celebrating the old-fashioned way, with Christmas crafts, roaring log fires and homemade food that is locally sourced and organic whenever possible.
What will be happening at these events?
Sophie Franks from the Kingcombe Centre, said: “At Christmas, we all like to look back to times past and Kingcombe is the perfect place for that. Unspoilt by the passage of time, its deep black skies are unpolluted by light and the valley’s sounds are those of the wildlife that thrives in the traditionally farmed meadows and ancient green lanes. Come and fill your Christmas stockings with gifts and enjoy festive refreshments at our Bazaar or settle back by the log fire for our West Country Christmas Dinner, with music and poetry from Christmases past. You could even spend a whole weekend relaxing with us and the wildlife of the Kingcombe Meadows Nature Reserve before the mayhem of Christmas!”

About The Kingcombe Centre www.kingcombe.org
The Kingcombe Centre was founded in 1988 as a charity focused at providing environmental education for all. Its main aims are to raise awareness of the connection between humans and their natural environment through residential and day courses; and to provide a safe space for children and young people, including those with learning difficulties, to explore and gain knowledge about the outdoor world.
The Centre is surrounded by 185 hectares (457 acres) of Dorset Wildlife Trust's Kingcombe Meadows Nature Reserve, Sunnyside Organic Farm and Barton Farm who all safeguard nature by farming for wildlife.
