Selfish Shellfish Divers Project

Following concerns that some divers are taking too many and undersized shellfish, Dorset Wildlife Trust, with funding from Project AWARE Foundation (International), ran the Selfish Shellfish Divers Project at the Purbeck Marine Wildlife Reserve in 2010. A waterproof Shellfish Divers Code was produced to help divers to act responsibly and keep within the law with regard to catching shellfish. These were handed out free to divers and dive clubs on the slipway at Kimmeridge during summer 2010 and a questionnaire survey was also carried out to find out what divers think about the issue.

You can download a copy of the Shellfish Divers Code HERE or pick up a waterproof card at Kimmeridge.
