Wild About Weymouth and Portland is a partnership project, funded by the Big Lottery Fund through Natural England's Access to Nature programme, involving Dorset Wildlife Trust, Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, Dorset Countryside Ranger Service (DCC) and Weymouth and Portland Borough Council. It aims to improve access in and between important wildlife sites in the borough and encourage local people and visitors to discover, enjoy and help conserve the wonderful natural environment of Weymouth and Portland.

Get amazing close-up views or monitor progress of the Borough's wildlife now by:
Visiting the Hidden Ledges Display at Portland Tourist Information Centre which is showing fantastic views of the nesting seabird colony of Guillemots, Razorbills and Kittiwakes on the West Coast.
Take a walk along the Coast Path after and seeing the birds flying to and from the cliff and fantastic views of Peregrine too. It will be possible to view images on the website shortly.
Checking out the beautiful views of Barn Owls on camera now at Lorton Meadows Centre itself or at www.dorsetwildifetrust.org.uk/dorsetowls where you can help monitor and keep a check on their progress.
News Update: The Legacy Trail
We are now in the process of applying for planning permisson for the waymarkers along the route of the Legacy Trail. You can find out more about the planning application on the Weymouth and Portland website here.
