West Dorset's Grasslands Need You!

If you would like to help conserve the species-rich grasslands in West Dorset, this is your chance. We need volunteers for practical conservation tasks such as scrub bashing, fencing and clearing footpaths.

  • Gain practical conservation skills
  • Get fit and see some stunning countryside in West Dorset.
  • We can also organise team-building days for businesses.
  • Local community groups and organisations are also very welcome.
  • Conservation volunteering can also count towards the Duke of Edinburgh's Award.

If you are an individual, company or community group who would like to volunteer to protect and enhance West Dorset's grasslands, please phone the Pastures New Team on 01300 321 320 or email

For other volunteering opportunities with the Dorset Wildlife Trust, please check the Volunteering section or contact Steve Davis, Volunteers' Support Officer by calling 01202 692033 (office) 07970 552659 (mobile) or email
