Future Jobs Fund provides new vacancies with DWT

FJF LogoUnder the Dept of Work and Pensions' Future Jobs Fund, Dorset Wildlife Trust is able to offer 8 new vacancies for young people currently registered as unemployed.  Two of the posts (Assistant Wardens at Kingcombe Meadows) have already been filled.  Other posts currently being offered are:  Two Volunteering Assistants, two Conservation Team assistants, one Wildlife Information Assistant.

Based at Brooklands Farm and at the Urban Wildlife Centre

The Wildlife Information assistant post will be based at Brooklands Farm, Forston, whilst the other posts will be based at the Urban Wildlife Centre, Beacon Hill.

Only available by going through Job Centre

The posts are funded for 6 months by DWP and are aimed at providing the opportunity for unemployed young people to gain valuable experience and boost their own CV whilst working with the Trust.  The scheme is only available through the Job Centres, so if you are interested in applying for any of the above posts please speak to your local Job Centre staff.  If you experince any difficulty in identifying the posts, contact Sue Rawles on 01305 264620.  To qualify for this scheme, you must be aged 18-25 years and have been unemployed for at least the last 6 months.

Youth volunteering admin assistant to be added soon

The eagle eyed and sharp brained of you will have so far added up to 7 posts, and will no doubt be wondering what the 8th one is?  A vacancy for a Youth volunteering admin assistant will be advertised within the next two weeks, having been administered by V, the national youth volunteering organisation.  This post will also be based at the Urban Wildlife Centre.

Whilst we are unable to offer these paid opportunities to anyone over 24 years, there are always lots of volunteering opportunities out there and these provide a great way of gaining valuable experience to add to any CV.
