Who wants to help the Otter Group?

Dorset Otter Group

A volunteering vacancy has arisen to assist our River and Wetlands team in administration of the Dorset Otter Group.

Whilst we get many volunteers to carry out surveys for otters, this role calls for someone to help out in the important task of ensuring that all the data is recorded correctly and that the enquiries are acknowleged.

The main elements are:

  • Answer the otters@dorsetwildlife.org.uk emails which mainly relate to sightings, spraint or eating fish
  • Help co-ordinate the surveys and records
  • Assist with migrating the otter volunteer database over to Progress
  • Lay out, print and send out otter bulletin to 200 members (envelope stuffing, labelling and email out

Training will be given where necessary, and the volunteer will be based at Brooklands Farm working with Rachel Janes (River & Wetlands)

For further details please contact Rachel at or call 01305 264620
