Responsible seafood sourcing policy: Davys Locker tries their hardest to find out where their fish was caught, the method of catch and port of landing.  They acknowledge there is no clear cut answer to sustainable fishing but how you buy and who you buy from.  Their seafood is supplied through the local West Bay boats that only use static nets and pots when the weather and tides are favourable.  Brixham market is their primary supplier for line caught bass, mackerel and other fish.  The haddock is from Grimsby and Davys Locker endeavour to buy line caught.

Seafood is sourced locally, caught from healthy stocks across Lyme Bay, and for many species, they are line-caught.  Examples of this include sea bass, tagged with the boat which caught them, and customers can look up this information through the website.  Lobster and crabs are caught off Hive Beach with many of the pots visible from the shoreline.  Scallops are a mix of both hand-dived and dredged from Lyme Bay.  Tuna is excluded from the menu.

Responsible seafood sourcing policy: Fish sourcing is very important to Urban Beach and they always ask when, where and how the fish were caught. Some of the fish sourced actually come from the bay (right in front of our sister venue, The Urban Reef Restaurant). Urban Beach includes information on their MSC fish on their menus and the staff are educated in their policies.  This allows them to feed information back to customers.  The policy is displayed in their restaurant and online.
