Fine Foundation Chesil Beach Centre N HOARDorset Wildlife Trust has a wild Weymouth Easter in store for all the family, with events at Lorton Meadows nature reserve and the Fine Foundation Chesil Beach Centre.  With a choice of Easter egg hunts and fun, family-friendly activities getting to know the wildlife of the meadows or down at the beach, you are spoilt for choice for the holidays in the wild.  

nectar rich border N HOARBees and butterflies are among the wildlife that desperately needs our gardens, according to Dorset Wildlife Trust, launching The Wildlife Friendly Garden Competition 2013.  Now in its fourth year, the competition, sponsored by The Gardens Group, aims to recognise the increasingly important contribution gardeners are making to the conservation of wildlife, even in the smallest spaces.

Samways GDS products West Bay scallops and lobsters

Dorset’s largest seafood wholesaler is launching an innovative labelling scheme to support Dorset Wildlife Trust’s campaign for Great Dorset Seafood (GDS).  Samways Fish Merchants Limited, based in Bridport, have pledged to label all seafood supplied by fishers working a Dorset Port and approved by the campaign, demonstrating provenance and traceability to their customers.

Dorset Wildlife Trust is calling for more volunteers to help run the Fine Foundation Chesil Beach Centre.  The wildlife and visitor centre reopened last year after extensive rebuilding and aims to help local people and visitors alike discover the extraordinary natural heritage of its unique Jurassic Coast location.
