Ferndown Town Council

In 2018 Ferndown Town Council became the first Council across Dorset to initiate their own Ecological Project.

This was created for Ferndown by Councillor Paul Hanson Graham who is a member of Dorset Wildlife Trust and a keen conservationist. Under the project, endangered and protected species including owls, kestrels and bats are supported.

A working party of council members was formed to carry out the tasks, further tasks include tree and wildflower planting. Since forming the working party an order for 20 bat boxes was implemented, these are now ready to go up at different locations within the town.  More projects are progressing.

FTC has joined Dorset Wildlife Trust as a Corporate member, a first for any council in Dorset.  A milestone in the council’s recognition of the importance of wildlife and their commitment to doing something about it.
