About the event

To celebrate World Shark Day on 14 July, we're holding our celebrations a little early with a special eggcase hunt at Kimmeridge Bay on the weekend beforehand.

What does a mermaid keep in her purse? Join us as we search the shoreline for empty shark and skate eggcases, often known as "mermaid's purses". Discover where they come from, learn how to identify different species, and find out how recording your discoveries can contribute to marine conservation.
