About the event

Join us for an engaging, hands-on workshop exploring the differences between grasses and sedges. Although they may look similar, their functions and ecological roles are remarkably varied. From the drought-defying resilience of cocksfoot grass to the wildlife-supporting richness of meadow foxtail, you’ll gain a new appreciation for the species that shape our meadows.

Jim White brings a wealth of knowledge about both botany and Kingcombe, and is heavily involved in the Dorset Flora Group. Most of the day will be spent in the field, with plenty of time to examine a wide range of species up close.

Come away with new skills, sharper ID confidence, and a richer understanding of the plants that underpin our ecosystems.
