About the event

Join us at Durlston Country Park to keep a look out for dolphins and other marine animals as part of the 2026 National Whale and Dolphin Watch survey. Learn what signs to look for, how to spot and identify them, and find out more about the types of whales and dolphins that can be seen in Dorset.  

This event is weather dependent, please call The Fine Foundation Wild Seas Centre if unsure.

All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Dogs

On a lead

Dogs are welcome at Durlston, but please follow their dog policy:

  • Keep your dog on paths, either on a lead or under very close control.
  • Well behaved dogs are welcome in the Castle, Visitor Centre, and Cafe, whilst on a lead.
  • There are 7 dog waste bins around the park. Please clean up after your dog, and dispose of waste responsibly.

What to bring

Please bring your own binoculars if you have them, although we will have a few pairs available to borrow.

You will need to dress appropriately for the weather conditions on the day as it is exposed. Sturdy walking shoes/boots are recommended.
