About the event

Each walk explores the nature reserve’s rich habitats and the wildlife it supports, from spring wildflowers and pollinators to summer butterflies, autumn fungi, and winter birds. Every visit offers something new, shaped by the season and the natural rhythms of the landscape and the River Hooke.

These relaxed, informative walks are ideal for anyone with an interest in nature, whether you’re a beginner or a regular wildlife enthusiast. You’ll gain insight into conservation at Kingcombe Meadows while enjoying time outdoors in a beautiful setting.

The full series is detailed on Eventbrite and includes themed walks covering topics such as geology, hedgerows and trees, and butterflies.

What to expect

  • Monthly guided walks, each with a seasonal focus
  • Opportunities to spot and learn about local wildlife

  • Stunning meadow, woodland, and river valley scenery
  • After the walk, you’re welcome to stay and enjoy lunch at The Kitchen at Kingcombe café (open seasonally – please check opening hours in advance)
