Dorset Wildlife Trust is seeking an experienced and inspiring project officer with a passion for connecting people with their local natural environment. The postholder will take a lead role in the north of Dorset engaging people from local communities in learning about, enjoying, recording and helping to conserve local heritage across the historic Gillingham Royal Forest project area, working with a partnership of local organisations and landowners.
We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, experience of engaging people from disadvantaged backgrounds, an ability to enthuse others and the experience to turn their hand to a range of tasks from leading practical conservation activities and providing training opportunities to running awareness-raising events and giving advice on wildlife issues.
This is a 2 year fixed term post of 21 hours (3 days) per week. The post is supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund.
