Macro Photography Weekend (Kingcombe Centre Course)

Friday 27 July 2018 17:00 - Sunday 29 July 2018 16:00

Finding suitable subjects and approaching them carefully (especially where insects and spiders are concerned) are essential skills in field close up and macro photography.

John will provide tuition not only in field craft but also in selection of subject matter, viewpoint, choice of shooting and metering modes, aperture and shutter speed. He will also be able to advise on focus stacking, which can produce remarkable results. You will spend most of each day in the field, exploring Ryewater Nursery reserve on the Saturday and the Kingcombe Meadows Nature Reserve, which surrounds the Centre and provides a wealth of opportunities, on the Sunday.

There will be opportunities to process, project and evaluate images on the Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon. John will run a moth trap on the Friday and Saturday nights, and there will be a chance to inspect and photograph specimens before breakfast the next morning.

Suitable for any level of experience from beginner to advanced practitioner, although you will need to have had some experience of working with a digital camera and be able to use photographic software.
